Day 27: Pets

There are four dogs at the Kelley house. We have two Chihuahuas that live inside, Macy and Romeo.  These two are your quintessential lap dogs.  They both loved to be held and to cuddle up on the couch.  We also have two outside dogs, Pepper and Zoey, that live in our barn.  These two are full of energy and love to run around with my dad and the horses.
Here is Miss Macy.
This is me and my sister with Romeo one Christmas.
This is my girl, Zoey.
Dad & Pepper. Sorry it's so blurry :(
My dad also has lots of horses that he LOVES to ride and train.

I'm hoping one day Jonathan and I will have a dog of our own. I would love to get a female dog and name her Eloise :) My favorites are Weimaraners, Saint Bernards, and King Charles Spaniels.
This is my cousin, Annalise, and her precious King Charles Spaniel, Bella.
Our friends, Zack and Amy, have two Saint Bernards and I just love them!
And I think Weimaraners are just gorgeous!

pumpkin cheesecake.

I'm a big fan of the Food Network.  I usually have it on while working on school work or when I'm doing chores around the apartment. Last week I was watching Down Home with the Neelys while folding some laundry.  {For you non-Food network fans out there, these are the same Neelys that own Interstate Barbeque right here in Memphis} Well Pat & Gina Neely were doing a show on Thanksgiving and made this awesome looking pumpkin cheesecake with  cinnamon whipped cream.  I LOVE cheesecake, so I immediately decided I would try this recipe out for Turkey Day this year. I even purchased a new Paula Dean pie dish for my Food Network cheesecake ;)

I was really worried about how it would turn out since I had never made a cheesecake before! [Besides the kind that doesn't require baking that you just mix up and put in the fridge, but that doesn't count!] I was thrilled with the way it turned out! It was absolutely delicious and a perfect fall dessert! If you are cheesecake lover, I highly recommend it! I can't wait to make my next cheesecake! I'm already brainstorming new flavors :)
I was so proud of my cheesecake!
Oh man! How AWESOME does that look!? :)

Here is the link to the recipe: Gina's Pumpkin Cheesecake. ENJOY! :)

If any of you decide to make it, let it know what you think!

Day 26: Picture[s] of your family.

My mom's side of the family: grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins
My grandmother and great grandmother on my father's side
The Griffins: my future in-laws :)
 Sister-in-law: Elizabeth Griffin
Brother-in-law: Matthew Griffin
And I saved the best for last, my future husband :)

Day 24: Something you've learned.

This past year I learned: to trust in the Lord with ALL my heart and give my worries over to Him.

Growing up ALL I ever wanted was to be a wife and a mother.  I dreamed of finding "the one", marrying him, and starting a family. My plan was to get married at 22 and have a child a year or two later. Well, last September I was pretty frustrated that I was 23 and NO where close to finding Mr. Right.

It was usually the same story: I liked a guy, spent time analyzing whether or not he could be the one and usually went on a few dates. At some point  I realized that he could not be the one I was waiting for and the relationship ended. This cycle was extremely discouraging.  So last September I decided enough was enough. I couldn't handle this on my own.  I need to give to God and seek His will regarding my future husband. That night I prayed and asked God to take control of this part of my life.  I told him I trusted Him and that even if I am not meant to be married, I know His plan for me is greater than my own.

That last part was SO hard to say, in fact, I know I had tears were rolling down my face as I prayed.  Of course I wanted to fall in love and get married, but I knew God's plan and my plan could be very different.  I just kept reminding myself of Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose." So I let Him have control and I stopped obsessing over it. I was such a relief to let it go.

Luckily about three months after I gave God control of my love life, He blessed me more than I could have ever have imagined.  I am so honored God chose me to be Jonathan's wife. He is truly my best friend and my perfect match. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him. :)

I have now learned that when I am overwhelmed with something going on in my life, I should give it over to Him because He loves me and has a plan for my life.

"Caste all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."- 1 Peter 5:7

Day 23: Favorite Vacation

My FAVORITE vacation is any of my trips to Disney World! I have been more times than I can count and every trip is filled with great memories! I am definitely a big kid at heart and there is just something magical about this place. I am most excited about my upcoming trip to Disney in May 2011. OUR HONEYMOON! We are so excited! There was no other place we even thought about going!

We are going to be staying at Disney's Boardwalk Villas. This resort is styled after the Atlantic coast resorts of the 1930s.

We are going to  spend Sunday-Wednesday at Disney and go to all four parks:

1. Magic Kingdom

2. EPCOT

3. Hollywood Studios

4. Animal Kingdom

The last two days we will be at Universal Studies/Islands of Adventure.  I am SO excited about these days.  I just went to Disney last January, but I haven't been to these two parks since 2008 and Jonathan has never been! I think what I am most excited about is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

I just booked all of our dining reservations last night. Some of the ones I'm most excited about are:

Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Resort
Ohana was recommended to us by our friends, Brad and Stephanye. They also went to Disney for their honeymoon and said we just had to go to Ohana.  They called it the "Texas de Brazil of Disney" so we knew we had to try it!

Boma at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
I ate here with my family the last time we came to Disney and I just knew I had to come back! Boma is huge buffet with dishes from African countries. It is incredible!

Tony's at Magic Kingdom
Ya know, like on Lady and the Tramp? ;) We also ate here last
January and it was delicious! My favorite part was dessert. Best tirimisu I have ever eaten!

The honeymoon is a mere 165 days away! We are getting so excited! I can't wait to spend a week in my favorite place with my favorite person as his WIFE :)

Day 22: Favorite city.

I love to travel with my family and friends. It is always fun to explore a new place or return to one of my family's favorite vacation spots.  But I would have to say that my favorite city is my hometown of Somerville, TN.

I am definitely a small town girl. And there are no words to express how much I love my little hometown. I get a warm, fuzzy feeling whenever I think about it.  I can't even begin to count the amazing memories I had growing up here. But what I love MOST about this town is the people.  Its such a close community. You have people you know you can COUNT on. The friendships I made growing up here are mean the world to me.  I'm so thankful to have been raised in Somerville.

I am a firm believer that: There is NO place like HOME.  And for me Somerville will always be home. In fact, I would be THRILLED if Somerville is where Jon and I end up.  I can't think of a better place to raise a family :)

Day 19: Something you miss.

ALL of my family lives in Somerville or close to it.  In fact, my mother's side of the family all live right in a row.

There is my grandparent's house.
Then my great-grandmother's house.
Then my parent's house.
Then across the creek is my uncle family's house.

I have one other uncle, who until last year, lived in Bartlett, TN.  This uncle is more like a brother to me than an uncle.  We are only 10 years apart in age. Last year, he got a job opportunity in Missouri, so he and his family moved to Springfield.
My uncle, aunt, & my precious cousins.

My uncle has two children. A girl and a boy. Annalise is 6 and Graham is 3.  I absolutely love these kiddos!  They both have the greatest personalities! And SO stinkin' cute ;) I hate being so far away from them. I miss them EVERY single day! I am so ready for Thanksgiving to get here so this sweet family will be back in Tennessee!
my sweet Annalise :)
Graham :) SO stinkin cute!
They are BOTH in my wedding.  Annalise will be my flower girl & Graham is the ring bearer. :)
Love my cousins and miss them TONS!

Day 18: Something you regret.

I really don't have any regrets. Sure, there are things I would do differently if I had the chance. BUT every decision I have made along the way has gotten me to where am I today. And where I am today=EXACTLY where I want to be. :)
