That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown: Isn't there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?
Linus Van Pelt: Sure, Charlie Brown, I can tell you what Christmas is all about.
Linus Van Pelt: "And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.'"

piece of CAKE.

We will have 3 cakes at our wedding. Besides the traditional wedding cake and groom's cake, we will have an additional cake for my grandparents 50th anniversary. Wanna see what I picked out?!

Let's start with the wedding cake:
Our wedding cake will look just like this one, except the cake will be white instead of green. I love the green orchids on it!

Jonathan will have a University of Arkansas cake with bride & groom Razorbacks on top. :) Here are some examples:
 SO cute!!!
Love it :)

I am SO excited to share my wedding day with my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary! Their cake will look something like this:

Hope everyone is having a GREAT Thursday! :)

hydrangeas, roses, & orchids. OH MY!

When we went the florist yesterday, I was SO happy to hear that all of flowers I wanted for the wedding would be in season! YAY! So let me tell you what I chose!

The bridesmaids bouquets will have green cymbidium orchids and green hydrangeas.
I think this will look amazing against the girls' deep purple dresses!

My bridal bouquet will have white peonies, green roses, and green cymbidium orchids.
It will look something like this. I just LOVE those green orchids!

The guy's boutonnieres will be a white rose with a touch of green.
I love purple ribbon!

The reception tables will have white table clothes with a purple overlay or runner.  The centerpieces will have a clear lantern with a white candle filled will green and white rose pedals.
Here's an example of the centerpieces.

The ceremony will have lots of greenery! Then we will have two arrangements of white, green, and purple flowers sitting on white columns.

Here is an example of the arrangements.

Only 143 more days until I'm Mrs. Griffin! :)

Last week I was REALLY starting to freak out about wedding planning.  It hit me that my wedding is less than 5 months away and all I've got so far is my dress and photographer. So last Sunday I decided to spend the night in Somerville so that me and mom could get some stuff done. And boy did we ever! I will tell you all the details later. Now let me tell you about a major change I made a couple of weeks ago. Remember how I told you I decided my colors would be teal, green, and white? Well, they aren't anymore....

A couple of weeks ago I went bridesmaid dress shopping with two of my maids, Whitney & Mary Clayton. We found the perfect bridesmaids dress BUT it did not come in teal.  The dress the girls tried on was the most gorgeous shade of deep purple and I just fell in LOVE with it!  Purple is my favorite color. So I fell like it was just meant to be :) So my new colors: deep purple, green, and white!
This is pretty close to the color of the bridesmaid dresses.

More details coming SOON!

I get by with a little help from my friends.

My crazy semester is finally over! Between my three methods courses and my placement at Barret's Chapel it was my toughest semester yet! Luckily, I had some wonderful classmates to get me though the past few months.  I definitely couldn't have made it without the help my amazing friends: Abbey, Megan, and Rachel.

These three have been support system this semester. Whether I needed advice about a lesson plan or just someone to vent to, these girls have been there for me. I am truly blessed by their friendships and hope they know how thankful I am for them! I know I will continue to turn to them during my last semester and when I have my own classroom.  They are all incredible woman and I know the are going to be amazing teachers :) LOVE you girls!

This weekend Jonathan and I met with my very talented friend/our wedding photographer, Katie Betts.  Katie is probably the most creative person I know and she had some FABULOUS ideas for photography on our big day! We decided we will have what Katie called a "photo box" at the wedding.  This were our guests will have their picture taken with props in front of a background.  It is going to be too cute!

Here are some examples:
Isn't this AWESOME!?
Too stinkin cute.

She also gave us a disk with our engagement pictures.  There were many new ones on the disk I had never seen before. They are fabulous! I'm so lucky to have such a talented friend and I'm ecstatic she will be the one to capture our special day!

Here are some of the new engagement pictures:

show true humility.

I came across this verse in my devotional today and wanted to share. It's from Titus 3:1-2.

It says:  "Remind the people to be...peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men."

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own world that we can't see anyone else.  This verse is a great reminder for us to be more thoughtful and sensitive to others.  Even the smallest act of kindness could brighten someone's gloomy day :)

We LOVE Memphis basketball!
We had a great time at the game last night watching our Tigers go 7-0.

Day 28: Something that stresses you out.

Right now the majority of my stress comes from SCHOOL. I'm at the last two weeks of my semester and EVERYTHING seems to be due this week! I feel like I'm constantly making lesson plans, writing reflections, or creating something. But hey, that is the life of a teacher right? :) I'm just ready to have my own classroom and be getting paid for all my hard work!

On a happier note! I made some exciting wedding plans today! I'll give more details later! ;)
