Good gosh. I can hardly believe it! :)
I spent this rainy Monday running around Memphis with my mother. We had lunch with dad before he left for a business trip. I had a doctor's appointment where I found out some not-so-happy news. And we picked up some last minute wedding things.
I started have really miserable sinus infections last fall. I mean MISERABLE. Nothing helped. I tried every antibiotic, nasal spray, etc....Finally in January I started feeling better, but my asthma and allergy doctor decided it was time for me to see an Ears, Nose, and Throat specialist. So in March I went and a cat scan of my sinuses showed I had pan-sinusitis [meaning ALL 8 of my sinuses were blocked].
Talk of sinus surgery began. My mom started having sinus trouble when she was my age and ended up having many surgeries. She said they were miserable and hoped I wouldn't follow in her footsteps. So the doctor said one more round of antibiotics before we rush in to surgery.
I went in today feeling awesome. Besides some minor headaches and the occasional nasal congestion, I've been great. I just knew when the doc saw my new scans today he would say "Looks great!" and we would be on our way.
Turns out there was no improvement. I still have pan-sinusitis AND this time he found a couple nasal polyps.... His exact words: "I really wish I could offer you something else, but I can't. Surgery has to be done." So in the next month or so I will be having sinus surgery.
On a happier note just five more days until I'm Jonathan's wife & we are on our way to the happiest place on Earth :)
