A little blogging break!

Hi , y'all!

This is my first post since last Friday, which is pretty unusual for me.

BUT, I've felt the need for a little break from blogging. And I must say it did feel good.

God has opened up some very exciting opportunities for us very recently that I'm just thrilled about!

I'm putting all faith & trust in Him, because I know He has GREAT plans for our future!

Praying for God's will to be done. :)

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Meet Nicholl

Today I'm going to introduce y'all to the gorgeous, Nicholl.
She is another new blogger and I'm excited for you to meet her!
She is from Memphis, but now her and her husband live in Miami.
Today she is going to tell us some fun things to do in her new city!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi all! I am Nicholl from Nicholl Vincent, and I am thrilled to be guest posting for Valerie! What a lovely opportunity to meet her followers and share a little bit of our lives here in Miami.

My husband Kyle and I recently moved here for his job and we are loving the city. As is with everything, it is not always rainbows and butterflies. We have to deal with traffic, and lots of it, overcrowding, and no parking-anywhere. But for the most part, Miami is incredible. The weather is superb, the culture is beautiful and the city itself is insormountably gorgeous.

My favorite aspect of living here is the amount of things to do. Getting bored or running out of activities is not likely. That said, here are a few of the things we have loved doing, and recommend for visitors:
A walk down Miami Beach. It is a very tourist-y area, but it is for a good reason! Lot's to see and do, including Dash Miami, luxurious hotels and high-end shopping.

Of course. enjoy a relaxing day at the beach. Our favorite beach is Nikki Beach, because although it is still downtown, it is more low-key, and they often have beach-side entertainment such as live bands, a jungle gym and volleyball nets.

This is AWESOME. Free yoga classes on the beach three times a week at Bayfront Park. Mon. and Wed. 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m. These classes are televised, so that's fun too ;)

The Sunset Lounge at the Mondrian Miami Hotel. Enjoy a luxurious evening while the sun sets over the beautiful Miami skyline.

The Miami Seaquarium on Key Biscayne.
You can swim with dolphins for a day, and even train them!

A night on South Beach. Remember every song ever written about Miami?...This is why. A night on south beach can appeal to every taste. Wonderful restaurants, nightlife, the beach at night, the art district  and celebrities amongst others.

Shopping with  like our favorite family...
The Dolphin Mall
The Falls
Sawgrass Mills
Lincoln Road
Aventura Mall
And many more malls to really shop until you can no more.
Shopping here is much more affordable than it was in Memphis, and of course there is a lot more variety, which has been truly terrible for me. In a way...
Although I wish I could go on about the many things to do in Miami, I will stop at this. The Viscaya Museum. This is an Italian mansion turned into luscious gardens, and a must-see home tour.

Visit my blog to follow our adventures as we become south floridians!

Until next time,
Cheers from Miami!

Meet Mckenzie!

Hey friends!
Tonight & tomorrow I'm going to introduce you to two new bloggers that I think you will love!

First up is Miss Mckenzie! I just love her blog!
This girl couldn't be any cuter or sweeter! She is an amazing young lady with a heart for the Lord!
I'm going to let her introduce herself to you! :)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey ya'll! My name is McKenzie and I am an up and coming blogger!
My little blog is called He Loves Me, go check it out!

I am so thankful to be posting on Valerie's blog today.
She was one of my first followers and I am so grateful to have her continuous support.
I'm a senior in High School and can not wait to be starting the next chapter of my life next year by heading off to college! I live on a tiny little Island, I love to read, I love to make new friends, and I have come to truly love sharing my life with all the lovely ladies of the blog world.

Why is my blog called He Loves Me?
Well the number one focus of my blog is my sweet Jesus, and He truly does LOVE me.

"FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. JOHN 3:16

See?!

I blog for fun. Mostly about my daily life, what I love, my hopes, my dreams, funny things that happen, and what God is doing in my life. In the short time I have been blogging I have been so inspired by the encouraging blog's I have started to read. It is a beautiful thing to see so many women who are bold enough to speak the truth and share in each other's journeys through life. Let's keep up the good work and help each other out along the way!

Love, McKenzie

Come on over and visit:

What I'm Loving Wednesday.

I'm loving that this time next month I will be at the beach.
We are spending a week in Florida with my family in May. I can't a wait!

I'm loving that there is a Five Guys opening soon in my neighborhood.
It's going to be in the same shopping center in as my gym.
Coincidence? I think not... :)

I'm loving that my sorority won Chapter of the Year at the U of Memphis for the 5th year in a row.
Not only that, but they also won Greek Sing for the 4th year in a row & Greek Woman of the Year for the 3rd year in a row! These girls are incredible! I'm such a proud alum!

I'm loving Amika's Nourishing Hair Mask.
I had a sample of this in my birchbox this month.
I love the smell & how soft it makes my hair feel!

I'm loving Vita Muffin Tops.
These muffin tops+a cup of coffee are one of my favorite afternoon snacks!
I'm on a mission to try them all. So far I've tried 5 flavors & the Banana Choc Chip is probably my fav so far!

I made these last week and they were awesome!
I did make a few changes to this recipe, but they were still amazing!

Have a great Wednesday, y'all!

San Diego: Day 3

This is the third & final post about my wonderful trip to Sand Diego!
We spent our last full day of the trip at DISNEYLAND! :)

We left Mac's apartment about 8 and made the 1.5 hour drive to Anaheim.
We stopped in the adorable town of Orange, CA to have breakfast at Bruxie.
Bruxie's menu is FULL of waffle sandwiches. Both sweet & savory, but we both went for the sweet!
Mac got the PB&J & I got the strawberry creme brulee. They were both absolutely amazing!

After breakfast we headed straight to Disney!

I've been to Disney World in Florida many times, but this was my first trip to Disneyland.
It was a very busy day at the park, but the weather was wonderful & we had a great time!

We had lunch in the park at The Hungry Bear restaurant in Frontierland.
We'd heard great things about the fried green tomato sandwich there & couldn't wait to try it!
It was incredible! One of the most unique & delicious sandwiches I've ever had.
& it came with some yummy sweet potato fries.

& I got the cutest honeybee cupcake for dessert! It was a lemon cake with honey icing. So good!

Okay, I'll shut up about our amazing lunch now & get back to the pictures :)

After a long day at Disney we headed back to San Diego & had a great dinner at BJ's Brewhouse.
Chicken pot-stickers & pizza. YUM! :)

Y'all know we had to have dessert after dinner! ;)

We stopped by Sprinkles to try their famous cupcakes. I am a HUGE Food Network lover & one of my favorite shows is Cupcake Wars. Sprinkles is owned by Candice Nelson who is a judge on Cupcake Wars, so we knew these would be some good cupcakes!

We got three cupcake: a red velvet, a dark chocolate, & a banana.
Our favorite was hands down the red velvet. It was perfect!

And that was our trip, folks!
Lots of sunshine, food, & fun! We had the best time!
We are already planning our next trip to San Diego! Can't wait to go back :)

Have a great day, y'all!

The Neon Suit

Lots of you asked yesterday where I got this swimsuit...
It's from my favorite store....TARGET!

I love this suit! Neon+color blocking. What's not to love?! :)
Plus, the price is good! Just $14.99 for each piece. :)

This Weekend

Friday
I started out my weekend with an intense cardio workout. The stair master kicked my butt, but it felt so good! That evening we had a nice, relaxing night at home. Chilis takeout for dinner and then a "24" marathon on Netflix. Season 7 is SO good!
I enjoyed a Skinny Cow Cookies and Cream Bar, while watching Jack Bauer save the country.
Man, these things are good! Just as tasty as the carmel ones :)

Saturday
We spent the afternoon at my parents' house.
Being poolside with my family & a couple of my best friends was just perfect.

It was a great afternoon!

That night we went to Linsey & Matt's His & Her shower. They are getting married in June. :)
I couldn't be more excited for this sweet couple! The shower was so much fun!
The weather was great & the food was delicious. :)
Jonathan & I before the shower.
He got a haircut Saturday. Doesn't he look handsome?! ;)

The beautiful bride-to-be!

 Love this sweet couple!

My favorites :)

Sweet friends

One of my oldest friends, Wellons! We have been friends since we were babies!

The bride with some of her maids. Too bad I ruined the picture with my terrible red eye :(

Sunday
After a wonderful sermon at church today we had lunch & went to Target with Fallon.
Love her :)

Now we are back home. I should be cleaning & Jon should be cutting the grass, but instead we are watching more 24. Oh well. The cleaning/grass cutting can wait until tomorrow. :)

Have a good evening, y'all!
