Hi all you lovely readers!
I'm so excited to guest blog today on Valerie's cute blog. Seriously...It was love at first sight the first time I came to her blog. Is she not just the sweetest thing ever?
Anyway, my name is Erika and I blog over on a little blog called t.e. and baby. Basically, it's just a blog about t (my husband) e (that's me!) and the cutest baby you'll ever see. I try to be completely honest and show every part of my life...Not just the "fluffy" parts.
Which brings me to my topic today!
Being yourself on your blog.
For a while, I really struggled with which direction I wanted to take my blog. I would see other blogs and think "Wow! They have the perfect life" or "whoa, they are so great at photography (or crafting, or writing, or or or)" and find myself really getting down on myself because my life wasn't perfect. In fact, it was far from it.
My daughter stays in her pajamas most days...Heck, so do I. I'm the worst chef in the entire world. My dog pees on blankets if I leave them on the floor. I need to lose ten pounds. My clothes are all the same ones I wore in high school.
But, in the midst of all those "quirks" that my life includes...My life is completely beautiful.
It isn't perfect--Not even close. But, I've learned to embrace my flaws
and the sad parts of life because they help make up who I am.
I decided I wanted to be completely authentic. I didn't want to change myself to look "perfect" to my blog readers. I know that sharing my real life is what heals me. It's what heals others.
And, it's what makes my life real.
I challenge you to be really real on your own blog today (and leave me a link so I can read it!)...You will be amazed at how free you feel when you let go of all the "fluff" and just be yourself.
