Just a little randomness....

A little randomness for you this Friday...

Zulily has a great deal on TOMS right now, so I ordered Miller two pairs.
Baby TOMS are just too cute! :)

I've officially washed all of Mill's clothes, socks, blankets, burp cloths, etc.
Washing baby clothes is much more fun than normal laundry.

Two of our favorite couples are moving to Somerville this weekend.

The Kelleys are moving from Memphis.
Matt is my cousin & Linsey is one of my very best friends.
Can't wait to have them living just 5 minutes away from us!

& the Moodys are coming from Arkansas.
Such a great little family! :)
Myles & Miller will be 8 months apart. & best friends, of course :)

I bought these these week.

And I have to say they are pretty darn good.

And let's not even get started on Downton Abbey....
...I want to burst into tears just thinking about.

Happy Friday, y'all!

33/34 Weeks

I just realized I completely forgot to do a 33 week update, so I'm combining the two.
(It wasn't much of a difference anyways...)

Pregnancy Highlights
How far along: as of today I am 34.5 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 30 pounds. Yikes.

Maternity Clothes: Yes. I'm big, y'all.

Best Moment this Week: Last week was a good week. Valentine's Day Dinner at home with my husband was wonderful. We got a lot of painting done in our new bedroom/bathroom. And we had an amazing shower at church. I got gifts from 120 people. Our house is covered in baby stuff!

Gender: Baby BOY Miller

Movement: Lots.

Food Cravings: I'm really thirsty and {unsweetened} almond milk seems to quench my thirst the best.

Food aversions: None.

What I Miss: Being comfortable. I'm getting kinda miserable.

Sleep: Not great. Getting up to go to the bathroom all night is getting old. {Miller seems to love to kick his mom in the bladder 100x a night!} And I've also been really uncomfortable and having back pain. I've started taking one benadryl before bed (doc said it is fine) and that seems to help!

What I am looking forward to: Our last birthing class is Saturday! I'm ready to learn all about breastfeeding!

Love Day 2013

Happy Friday, y'all!
I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day yesterday!

Mine was simple, but just wanted I wanted.

I took off work to spend the day with this love bug.
This is Andrew Chase. His parents are very good family friends.
He is absolutely precious & I LOVE spending time with him!
We had a fun day playing and talking about "Baby Miller". He is so excited to meet him! :)

I spent the evening with my handsome husband.
Nothing fancy, just a nice night at home.
-He brought home some gorgeous roses.
-Feed me one of my favorite meals--shrimp pad thai from Pei Wei. Mmm..SO yummy!
-We can't celebrate any occasion without Gigi's! My hunka chunka banana love cupcake was delicious!
-& we ended the evening watching "Perks of Being a Wallflower."

Super simple, but it was perfect :)

Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!
Miller's baby shower is Sunday! Yayyy! Super excited :)

Dimples & Asthma

I'm 45 days away from my due date. It is seriously insane how fast the days are rolling by.
Baby boy will be here in no time.

I've been day dreaming lately about his sweet face. I can't wait to see what he will look like!
Like me? More like Jonathan? I think my dad is convinced he is going to look like him!
I just can't wait to find out!

My mother in law has always joked that our kids will have dimples & asthma
because my hubs & I are both dimpled asthmatics :)

Now, I pray Miller won't have to deal with yucky asthma,
but I would LOVE if he inherited our dimples!
DIMPLES! :)

I did some research last night to find out the chances that Mill would have dimples.

Here is what I found:
"Since the dimple gene is dominant; a child has dimples, if the gene is present in him/her.
It means that if both your parents have dimples,
you have 50-100% chances of inheriting dimple genes."

50-100%!!!

Eeeeek! I just can't wait to find out! :)

Nursery Inspirations

Well, my little man's nursery is just about done.
Y'all have NO idea how happy it makes me.
I can just about cross that off the list! Another thing finished before M arrives!

I'm not ready to show you his room quite yet, because there are still a few little things we need to get.
But, today I wanted to show you a few of nurseries I used as inspiration.

You will notice a theme with all of these...that there is no specific theme! ;)
I didn't want to be hindered by picking out certain colors for the room.
My decorating rule was: ANYthing goes!
I just wanted a fun room, that made me feel happy every time I entered it. & I accomplished that.
I could sit in his room for hours!

So here are some of my favorite (no-themed) spaces that inspired my baby boy's room!

I am planning on a nursery reveal in March, so be on the lookout :)
Have a fabulous Monday, y'all!

you+me=him

We are now fifty days from Mills due date, people. 50!

Even though I definitely want him to stay in there for a few more weeks, I am dying to meet him.
I'm just dying to hold him, kiss him, see that face, & get to know his little personality.

The main reason for this post today is my husband.
The man is the BEST person I have ever met.
He is so kind. SO incredibly kind. He blows my mind with his kindness.
He is also patient, loving, hilarious.
And my goodness is that man good looking ;)

As you can see, I think extremely highly of my significant other.
As I know all you wives out there do about yours!
These guys are our life partners. Our very best friends.

& now mine is about to be given another title: DADDY.

Y'all. To think about him being a father gives me butterflies.
I get very emotional thinking about him & our son.

I think it is THE COOLEST THING that this baby we are about to have just isn't any baby. He is OURS. Jonathan & I made him. Out of love. He is going to have our traits (both physical & personality). He is a little bit of both of us. We created him. Me+my best friend.

Guys, I just think this is the most awesome thing in the world. To create a life with the person you love the most. With your very best friend. And I just can't wait to meet him in about 50 days :)

So my sweet Miller:
You & I are very lucky. Blessed beyond belief. Because your daddy is incredible. You will find this out very soon. He is going to your best buddy. He will make you laugh. He will teach you about a lot things. He loves Jesus, football, hunting, working out, and war history. & he is going to want to teach you about ALL those things. Y'all are going to have so much fun together. He's also going to teach you to be a Godly man. I know this for sure, because he is the most Godly man I know. You will learn so much from him. More than I could ever teach you. He is going to be the best daddy. He already loves you so much. And so do I. I love you both. My boys :)

Saw it. Pinned it. Did it.

Today I'm linking up with Stephanie @ Beautiful Mess to show you
my latest Pinterest project for Miller's Nursery: his lovely new mobile!

Originally, I hadn't planned to have a mobile in his room. I really like the way the crib area looks & thought it might be too cluttered if I added something else. BUT {after browsing Pinterest} I noticed that lots of ladies were putting mobiles over changing tables now instead of cribs.

I LOVED this idea and thought it would be a great way to add some extra color to his changing table area. & give him something pretty to look at during all the diaper changes ;)

So, I searched & searched Etsy. Found NOTHING I liked. Finally, I decided to check out Pinterest to see if they had any easy tutorials. I needed one with NO sewing involved.

I found a great tutorial for a mobile using card stock on this blog & it was just what I was looking for.
Super cute & easy!

Here is the original I saw on Pinterest

And here is my version

mid project

the finished product!

I have to give my sweet husband credit for this mobile too.
He had to tie all the knots for me & hang it up. Love that man :)

The Fig Tree Withers

In Matthew 21:18-22, Jesus is hungry & he walks by a fig tree. This tree was bear. Nothing, but leaves.
Jesus said to the tree: "May you never bear fruit again." The tree died immediately.

This amazed the disciples.
They asked Jesus, "How did you do that SO fast?"

Jesus's reply:
"I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea', and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."

What a powerful message, huh?!

You see, I am a planner. & a worrier. & I worry that things aren't going to go as I plan them.
It drives my husband (who is the most carefree person in the world) crazy, but I can't help it.

Since, I've been pregnant. The planning and worrying has gone to a new level.

This life inside of me consumes the majority of thoughts now-a-days.
I love him in a way I never knew I could love. He is my most precious. He is my baby.

So, naturally, I worry.

Is he healthy? Is he growing like he should be? He hasn't kicked in 10 minutes, is he okay? Should I have drank that cup of coffee this morning? SO many things. Most of them very silly. But alas, I am a worrier.

And then the planning...OH, the planning. So, much to be done before AND after baby arrives.

So, lets go back to these verses above...

They reminded me of the importance of giving this life in my belly COMPLETELY to Him.
Now, soon as I found out I was pregnant I prayed and told God this pregnancy is His.

But, did I really give it all to Him?
I'm not so sure. But, I know it's vital.

These verses were a wonderful reminder that I need to stop being a worrier, a planner, & a control freak and just give everything to God. To have FAITH that He is going to take care of this precious gift He has given to me. That I should always remember that with prayer & faith God can do great things in your life.

I know God is in control & that He already has a plan for Miller. :)
